UK Government Approved
Test to Release COVID-19 Test with official documentation provided as a PDF download from UK ISO/BSI Test to Release approved laboratory Future Health Technologies Limited trading as Future Health Biobank
Our LivingCare PCR “Test to Release postal kit” is suitable if you are travelling back from overseas and are required to self-isolate in line with UK government guidance. With this testing kit, you may be able to reduce your self-isolation period, providing that your test result is negative.
Our lab partner is a Government-approved UKAS applied provider for Test to Release.
What does Test to Release enable you to do?
If you’re travelling back to the UK and your country of travel is not on the approved travel corridor list, you are required by law to isolate for 10 days from your return date. Test to release allows you to take a test on day 5 of your quarantine, and providing you get a negative result, you can leave quarantine from the moment you receive your result.
How to book – The process
When you book, we will take a number of details from you including travel dates/locations. One of these dates is a return date of which you land in the UK. We will dispatch your kit on the 4th full day after your return by 24 hour tracked post with Royal Mail. You will receive your kit and can swab yourself on the 5th day or later. Perform your swab test, taking care to complete the paperwork provided (we cannot test samples with incomplete paperwork). Please note: These are minimum timescales, whilst we guarantee to dispatch packages on time, any postal delays in your kit reaching you will mean you get your result in line with the time you return your kit, not the above example.
Drop your sample at one of our drop off locations before 4pm, and you will receive your results the next evening.
If your result is negative, you can stop isolating immediately after receiving your result. But you should continue to isolate if you develop symptoms, or if you are following guidance around shielding or isolation for different reasons.
If you test positive for COVID-19, you must continue to self-isolate. The length of this self-isolation is based on whether or not you have symptoms. If you do have symptoms of COVID-19, you must continue to self-isolate for 10 days from when your symptoms began. If you do not have symptoms, you should remain in self-isolation for 10 days from the day you took your test.
Those who you live with or have traveled with should also self-isolate for 14 days from the date that you took your test. All of the above is mandatory UK government guidance and must be followed.
When should you take your sample?
You should take your sample on the fifth full day after arriving back in the UK – For example, if you arrived on a Tuesday, you would swab yourself on a Sunday. Please note: We dispatch kits on the 4th full day of you arriving tracked24 with Royal Mail. Whilst this service is largely very reliable, kits reaching customers can sometimes be delayed. We do provide tracking numbers for all kits, and you can track your parcel online to gain an accurate date of arrival.
